My work as a consultant

Between April 2022 and December 2025, I took a sabbatical from the Council of Europe for family reasons and worked as a consultant.

I, for instance, helped the Spanish government to prepare its national strategy to end violence against children. I facilitated a global consultation process on the creation of an independent global safe sport entity and participated in the creation of an independent Safe Football Unit under the auspices of the FIFA Foundation. I also advised several donors in their efforts to support survivors of sexual abuse. To contribute to building capacities and to raise awareness, I collaborated with several organisations and institutions delivering training sessions, facilitating panel discussions, and participating as key note speaker or preparing the general report at events. I also taught children’s rights at the University of Bayonne. Below is my “top-desktop” at the Mar Menor in Spain.
